Chasing light as we soaked up sunsets up in the mountains. Exploring dusty tracks. Cooling off in natural pools. That first leche leche...
Packing up the Jeep for a weekend getaway to the mountains with good friends, exploring familiar old towns and seeking out the sweetest sunset lookouts. Nothing beats it, does it?
Our Spring '24 shoot took us to the dusty hillside tracks and colourful, winding streets of Gran Canaria. We met with new faces that quickly became good friends to enjoy a cool cerveza with while watching the sun go down.
Come behind the scenes with our photographer Tom, videographer Amon and stylist Jess as we gear up for the changing season.
"We worked with a top local crew of friends who adore life on the islands. Their appreciation for island life was evident as soon as we met and has inspired me to return for the 6th (?!) time."
"The first two days were spent exploring the island, heading to the spots lesser known to tourists. Colourful buildings, cobbled paths, dusty tracks and glimpses of sun through the clouds."
"Amon found a waterfall on the map, so we headed on a walk through a quiet village and into the mountains. Halfway along we got greeted by a cat, who followed us along the path for most of our journey."
"The location was beautiful, and this was a spot we later returned to - with Gaetan & Nelson keen to do back flips into the natural pool."
"We ate at a couple of local cafes, sampling ‘Wrinkly Potatoes’, ‘Old Clothes’ and other tapas favourites. Turns out that 'Old Clothes' is a stew made up of scraps of meat, and 'Wrinkly Potatoes' are exactly as they sound! Lots of leche leches were drunk, and, of course, patatas bravas."
"We took the long way around mountain roads to get to secluded beaches and soak up the sun. A refreshing sign of the seasons changing."
"On our last night, Gaetan cooked up a Spanish omelette, with an amazing view of the sunset behind and Passenger X Brewgooder beers to hand. The omelette turned out pretty well - YouTube channel ‘Cooking with Gaetan’ pending…"
"We were totally spoilt with dramatic silhouettes and warm orange hues over the valley. The Sherpa blanket was especially appreciated once the sun dropped!"
